FINNEY COUNTY TRANSIT (FIT) operates Monday through
Friday from 6am - 7pm with all buses returning to the Senior
Center at 7pm. Lift buses with state of the art 4-point tie down
securement systems are available to serve the general public,
disabled and elderly of Finney County. Whether you need
transportation for medical purposes, shopping, work,
volunteering, beauty shop, visiting a sick friend, recreation,
physical fitness or adult education to name a few, we are here
to ensure you get there safely and on time. Our professional
drivers are trained to provide safe transportation while on
board our buses and will assist with wheelchair boarding and
de-boarding and securement with our state of the art four point
tie down system.

Passengers living within 3/4 of a mile of the City Link fixed routes
with physical, cognitive or visual disabilities who are functionally
unable to independently use City Link fixed route services are
encouraged to contact the
FIT office for an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Paratransit
application. The Paratransit service is required by the ADA Act of
1990. The ADA is a civil rights bill and is designed to remove
barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from participating in
society. In the area of public transportation, the ADA states that
regular bus service should be the primary means of public
transportation for everyone, including people with disabilities.
Disability alone does not establish paratransit service eligibilty; the
decision is based SOLELY on the applicant's functional ability to use
the fixed route bus service. A medical professional must sign the
ADA application verifying disability. If approved due to inability to
use the fixed route service the ADA Paratransit certificate will enable
passengers to utilize the Mini Bus ADA Paratransit service, which is

Notice: Only passengers with completed, signed ADA applications on file at the FIT Center will be allowed to ride the Mini Bus Paratransit.

CITY LINK
Designed with the community in mind, City Link offers an affordable, reliable and convenient form of public
transportation providing citizens of any age access to the entire city as well as a number of specified county
destinations. Drivers can provide limited wheelchair lift assistance only to passengers utilizing City Link.
Brochures containing route maps, stop times and general information that is helpful to passengers are available
throughout the community. We encourage passengers to arrive at the designated bus stops 10 minutes early to
ensure you do not miss the bus.

All fares are per person per one-way trip and must be paid upon boarding. Exact fares must be
paid in cash, with a FIT punch card, FIT token(s) or Monthly Pass. No change is given. Present
Paratransit/Half Fare card, and picture ID or Medicare Card upon boarding for discount. Have
your cards readily available prior to bus arrival to expedite boarding. FIT cards, passes and
tokens may be purchased at the FIT Office.
Passengers must present picture ID with Monthly Pass upon boarding. Monthly Passes are good
only for the person they were issued to-passes are not transferable to another person. No
refunds or replacements.
Transfer tickets are available from the drivers to allow transfer to another route to reach your final
destination. Transfer is free, but must be used within one hour of issuance. It may not be used as
a return ticket on the route from which it is issued.

Finney County Transit provided 60,915 rides in 2009 on the City Link and the Mini Bus. This compares to 43,868 rides provided in 2008, 15,659 in 2007 and 13,210 in 2006 prior to City Link implementation on September 6, 2007.

passenger boarding. Mobility disabled persons are responsible for either a ramp or someone other than the bus driver to
get in and out of their homes, doctor's office, etc. where steps are present. Sorry, the drivers are not allowed to move
wheelchairs up or down steps.

FINNEY COUNTY TRANSIT DEMAND RESPONSE SERVICE

Finney County Transit (FIT) Demand Response bus service is available to the elderly, disabled and general
public in Finney County at least 3/4 mile beyond City Link fixed route area outside Garden City's city limits on a
first come first serve basis. Passengers are asked to call by 7:00 pm the last work day before to schedule a ride
and must call by early enough for a return ride to allow the driver to return to the FIT center by 7:00pm. Please
help us better serve you by notifying the dispatcher if you have a visual, hearing or special mobility need or if you
